What exactly IS Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)?

What happens during a PRP treatment?

The first step of a PRP treatment, regardless of where the product is to be injected, is to separate the platelet-rich plasma from the rest of the blood.  This includes a painless blood draw, after which, your blood will be spun down in a centrifuge to isolate the PRP.

Once separated, the plasma may be mixed with other ingredients to heighten its benefits, especially in the case of hair restoration.  The PRP is then injected into the skin and/or spread topically over the treatment area after it has been microneedled, as is the case with the PRP Facial, sometimes referred to as the Vampire Facial®.

Where can PRP be used?
