What to Expect During MonaLisa Touch Treatments

MonaLisa Touch treatments are performed in our Wayzata office. You can expect little to no pain, and each session takes as little as five minutes. Patients are given three treatments that will be spaced out over the course of several weeks. You will be given a gown and sit on an exam table where your feet will be placed in stirrups in the same fashion as your vaginal exams. Your treatment provider will insert a ring that is sterile into the opening of your vagina. This allows the doctor to insert the handheld device without causing irritation to the opening of your vagina. At that point, the device is inserted into your vagina and treatment will begin.

Recovery from MonaLisa Touch Treatments

You will have no down time after your MonaLisa Touch treatment session and can return to daily activities. However, you should refrain from sexual intercourse for three days after your treatment. You should not insert anything into your vagina, such as tampons, for three days. You may notice a slight difference in the way it feels when you urinate for the first time after treatment.
